The MindFit National Report for Poland is now published on the project website and forms an important part of the evidence base for the development of the MindFit Training Toolkit. The report looks at the current situation in Poland at the intersection of youth mental health, sport, and youth work, combining desk research with field input from practitioners. Its methodology included desk research, an online survey with 21 respondents, and a focus group with 10 practitioners working directly with young people, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds
The report shows that sport is already widely valued in Poland as a way to build teamwork, communication, resilience, and broader psychosocial development. At the same time, it identifies several important gaps: mental health is still not integrated clearly enough into grassroots sport, many coaches and youth workers lack practical tools and training, and performance-focused environments can increase pressure on young people. The report calls for practical, non-clinical tools, more inclusive and participation-focused sport formats, and stronger links between sport, youth work, and mental health support services.
